The history of 31 Royal Exchange Square
Nestled in the heart of Glasgow’s city centre, 31 Royal Exchange Square dates all the way back to the late 18th century when it first served as the town house of William Cuninghame of Lainshaw, a rich tobacco lord. It was acquired in 1817 by the Royal Bank of Scotland. For nearly two centuries it was the RBS Glasgow base. Now the Grade Listed building in Royal Exchange Square is home to Banca di Roma.
